The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative — Technology Administrator → Director of Information Technology
- Situation
- ELI delivers entrepreneurial mindset training, courseware and consulting to students, educators and corporate teams worldwide. Its web properties, LMS and third-party platforms had grown faster than the infrastructure holding them together.
- What I did
- I owned the technology function end to end: migrating two subdomains to AWS and the primary domains to a new hosting environment, hiring and directing a contract developer, upgrading the production server from PHP 7.4 to 8.1 across every plugin and site, building a custom WordPress plugin for a new online product, and connecting HubSpot, Zapier, Moodle, Teachable, Accredible and Kaltura into one working system.
- Outcome
- Performance, scalability and cost efficiency improved by 25%. Learners gained a digital badging system, internal systems gained VPATs for Section 508 and WCAG, and the user validation plugin was brought up to LTI 1.3.
